Difficulties in patient recruitment and retention present the most common challenges to the success of clinical trials conducted in the United States.
Factors that make the Dominican Republic a reasonable option to conduct clinical trials include:
- The Dominican Republic has a population exceeding 9 million, with more than 2 million people residing in Santo Domingo.
- It has a stable democracy and a growing economy.
- A large portion of its population is treatment naive, resulting in a speedier recruitment process.
- It has a smooth regulatory approval process for clinical trials.
- LAR uses the procedures established by MRA which led to its well-deserved reputation for conducting clinical trials in the most efficient, scientific and ethical manner.
